The environment of Kovačica municipality offers a wide variety of possibilities for the lovers of hunting and fishing. Tamiš river and the artificial lakes in Debeljača are the right choice for passionate fishermen, while for the hunters our municipality offers a plenty of fields which are rich with the fine game. Joint hunts are regularly organized in the hunting season, and they are enjoyed both by the local hunting associations and visiting hunters.

 

 

 

 

Hunting in the plains are always organized with only one kind of game - only one kind of animal is being hunted at the time, it might be rabbits, pheasants, foxes or wild boars. Almost every major town in Vojvodina has it's own hunting association. During one hunting season, hunting is scheduled and organized several times in different places. Regardless of the amount of prey, hunting ends with joint meeting, lunch or dinner, song and celebration.

1) Fox campaigns - a fox hunt that is of regional importance to the local hunters and arriving guest hunters from all over Vojvodina and Serbia. The fox hunt is organized every year in February, in a different areas of the municipality.

 

2) Municipal contest in shooting clay pigeons is organized every year in mid-June (from 15th to 18th June) in Kovačica.  In addition, each hunting association of the surrounding villages individually organizes their own competitions in shooting clay pigeons, and then the best representatives of Kovačica participate in the Banat league. The organizer of the event is an Hunting association of Kovačica municipality .

 

The Kovačica municipality has no major game. Regular season for small game hunting is organized from 15th October to 15th January. For hunting you need special permits, issued by the Hunting Association of Municipalities Kovacica.

Debeljača Lakes

The sports and recreational fishermen can engage in commercial fishing on Debeljača lakes since 2000.  Lakes are rich with different types of freshwater fish: carp, pike, babushka, perch, catfish and amor. This rich choice of fish lures both hobby fishers and professional competitors from all over the country and abroad.

 

 

On the coasts of the river Tamiš, fishermen usually fish for carp, catfish, white fish, pike and perch. The part of Tamiš river which flows beside Idvor Tamiš is an ideal place for fishermen, regardless of whether you want to fish in a regulated area's coast or on the water. Specific rules about fishing are regulated by the fishing season - season for fishing a certain type of fish. Carp fishing season lasts from 01.06. to 30.03., the catfish season 16.06. to 30.05., and the pike season 01.04. to 30.09.
